MFT Student Resources

As a Student Member of OAMFT, you have access to several resources to support your path to becoming a LMFT.  Every year, OAMFT provides scholarships to Student Members to attend our annual conference (click here for the 2014 Spring Conference scholarship application).  Student members also have opportunity to volunteer at the AAMFT National Conference and other related events.  Not only are these excellent educational opportunities, they also provide the MFT student with time to network with MFT professionals.  In addition to volunteer opportunities, Student Members can also access the following resources:

  • Approved Supervisor List to help you find an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor in Oregon
  • OBLPCT Exam Info to help you prepare to take the MFT exam
  • School Visits to help you connect with your OAMFT board members.  OAMFT visits Oregon schools in the fall and spring, see our calendar for details.
  • Networking Events to help you connect with LMFTs for professional mentoring, networking and more.  More info here: Networking Opportunities
  • Affordable counseling for student members.  OAMFT is working with it's Clinical Fellows to find therapists who will offer counseling to MFT students.  Check back for more info soon!

In 2013, OAMFT passed legislation to decrease the time required to get licensed in Oregon, post graduation.  This is just one of the many ways that your membership dollars go to benefiting your MFT career.  You can learn more and get involved in legislative efforts by checking out our Legislation page.

Do you have an idea for other member resources we can provide to students?  Feel free to email your suggestions to your Student Representative, Oana Nita.
