George Fox University offers both a master's degree and a certificate in marriage and family therapy. Each will prepare you to work with individuals, couples, families, and groups across the life cycle. You will be able to work in a variety of settings, such as private, institutional, community, Christian, and cross-cultural. You can work in private practice (group or individual), profit and nonprofit organizations, hospitals, schools, etc.

Lewis & Clark College
Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy Program (M.A. or M.S.)
This program is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The Master of Arts MCFT program at Lewis & Clark College is designed to prepare graduates for eventual employment as marriage, couple and family therapists in settings that focus on family/relational based interventions. The program is generally designed to take full-time students three years and part-time students four years to complete. There is also a Master of Science option for the Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy program. This degree is for students who have demonstrated interest and potential in research.

Portland State University
Couples, Marriage and Family Program (M.A., M.S., or Graduate Certificate)
The Portland State University Couples, Marriage and Family Program, which is part of our CACREP accredited Counselor Education Department, is a 90 credit program leading to a Masters in Education: Counseling. The program prepares individuals to work with couples and families in mental health centers, community agencies and other settings in which counselors are expected to assist clients with couple, family or relationship issues. Emphasis is placed on teaching counselors systemic assessment and intervention in the counseling process. Program completion can lead to state licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). For current mental health professionals, working at the master?s level, the department also offers a graduate certificate in couples, marriage and family counseling.

University of Oregon
Couples and Family Therapy Program (M.Ed.)
The Couples and Family Therapy program at the University of Oregon, a 73-credit M.Ed. degree, is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. We value students’ development of core clinical competencies in the context of a supportive cohort environment. Our curriculum promotes a strengths-based orientation and socially-aware practitioners and researchers who, in partnership with their communities, promote social justice, systemic change and enhancement of individual, couple and family well-being. Students apply theoretical and research knowledge in our state-of-the-art training center, The Center for Family Therapy (CFT). CFT training includes intensive live, videotape, and reflecting team supervision provided by university and community faculty supervisors in a small class format. The program has trained students from across the United States and throughout the world (e.g., Canada, India, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, England, Norway, Ireland, Israel, and Sweden).
